Are you ready for your next career opportunity? Raytheon Australia has an exciting opportunity for a bright-minded graduate to join our experienced Marketing and Communications team.

The Communications Specialist will support the development and execution of internal and external campaigns, undertake administrative tasks, and assist with operational management activities within the Marketing & Communications team.

Based in Canberra, the role has opportunities for career progression and long term employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of marketing strategies and tactics that support our growth campaigns.
  • Assist with posting, maintaining, and updating content across digital and social media channels to ensure currency and accuracy.
  • Support tracking and reporting of company and competitor communications activity.
  • Assist with event management and other campaign-related tasks.
  • Assist in the coordination and management of project budgets, artifacts, campaign materials, and collateral.
  • Ensure documents are retained and stored in approved collaboration platforms, network drives, or records/document management systems.

Skills Experience and Qualifications

  • Ideally, you will have recently completed a marketing or communications degree or have 1-2 years of industry experience in Marketing and Communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter and ability to work well in a team-based environment
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found on our websites.

Travel may be required within Australia to fulfil the requirements of this role.

I am a graduate systems engineer. I assist with drafting engineering documents such as white papers, proposals etc. and I also review documentation such as assembly instructions. I assist with project management and supply chain tasks as well, including drafting hazard logs, and conducting customer visits and site visits.

Pros

Cons

    • There isn't enough technical engineering work. Majority of the work is admin, configuration management work and integration work.

    • The large variations in my workload... Sometimes I am very quiet, and other times I have heaps to do.

    • Salary is not competitive, and salary negotiations are fairly difficult to succeed with.

    • Promotion opportunities are quite rigid... you must meet certain requirements to move up, and it can be difficult to obtain the necessary experience.
